Gary has 30+ years of sustainability experience and is a leading expert on environmental management systems (EMS) and corporate social responsibility. He is also a Certified Project Manager (CPM), Environmental Professional (EP), and has trained as an ISO 14001 Lead Auditor.
After finishing his B.Sc. Honours in Environmental Sciences at Carleton University and Graduate Studies in Environmental Engineering at Queens University, Gary started his career by taking on environmental research and engineering roles with governments, universities, and engineering firms. It was in these technical roles that he developed his deep understanding of environmental science, and the challenges and opportunities presented by our environment.
After 16 years in technical roles, Gary moved into the private sector, implementing a comprehensive Environmental Management System and earning one of the earliest ISO certifications at Nortel. He continued his success by leading the implementation of EMS and sustainable development strategy programs for various Federal Government departments before moving back into consulting roles with two of Canada’s leading environmental firms, WSP (then MMM) and Arcadis Canada.
Now, he has teamed up with Circle to help our clients take action and demonstrate leadership in environmental management and impact reduction.
